Quality is constantly consistent no matter which location. Always enjoy eating at highway 55!

I've always been a fan of Highway 55, loving their food and throwback 50's restaurant styling and atmosphere. But it had been a while since I had last visited, so my son and I decided to take in lunch today, to again take joy in what we last remembered, really great burgers, sandwiches, and those awesome crinkle cut chili cheese fries!
However, we left absolutely befuddled...Same great, friendly service, but the prices have clearly escalated while the quantity and even quality of food provided has diminished substantially. I'm not saying the food was terrible, because it wasn't, but there has been a clear deviation made from providing their great food of the past, to marginally acceptable at best, for what you're being asked to pay.
And the extra kick in the ribs was the realization that the crinkle cut fries are no more! How can this be? Who would make such a decision, because they were absolutely great! Please bring them back!!!!
All in all, the experience was really disappointing. Paying for what could equivocate to 5 Guys prices and getting a very marginal at best product in return. No thanks!
This review pains me, because I really do like Highway 55. But to see these same experiences being echoed amongst all of their other locations as well does not give me the confidence to return anytime soon. What a shame. They really had a good thing going, unfortunately it doesn't seem to be lasting down the long stretch whatsoever. I hope they can turn it around, because what was experienced today was a real shame in comparison to my great experiences here in the past. -

Burgers and fries. Pretty basic stuff here. Kind of like a 5 guys but not quite as good. Basic menu with burgers, fries, and dogs. Decent place to take the kids. Kids meals are served in paper cars. Good place to go on the fly if you're out and about. But I wouldn't make a special trip.

First time trying HWY 55 burgers and I can't say that I would go back. I ordered the pimento burger (smaller one) to go. When I got home, I was super disappointed that I spent almost EIGHT DOLLARS on an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie joke of a burger. It had almost NO pimento on it and the actual beef patty might have been large enough to satisfy a small child. The fries were not seasoned and tasteless and were also served in a very small portion considering the price.

Our family loved this place! It's a 50s style diner/restaurant in the Walmart shopping plaza in Rock Hill on Celanese. We went there on a Friday night because the Empire Pizza place was busy (as usual). This place quickly got busy after we arrived.
Highway 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries reminds me of Steak N Shake. Very similar menu, shakes, fries. But I think the food here is a bit fresher and tastier than Steak N Shake. Also, the atmosphere is a bit more intimate and friendly by the staff.
We each ordered a shake after dinner. They really should have more flavors, though, for their shakes. The prices were VERY REASONABLE.
All in all, though, we would definitely go back.
